Starting a project with me couldn’t be simpler.
Every writing project is different, but my process from idea to brief to finished project is easy to follow and gives great results.
Step 1: Get the party started
If you’d like to work with me then reach out to me by filling in the form on my contact page.
Please provide some high level description about your project and how I can help.
Once filled in and submitted I’ll be in touch as soon as possible to understand your needs and get to know you chat.
Step 2: Let’s be brief
Once we’ve talked I’ll email you a copy of my briefing form.
A well thought out brief provides the best environment for success. I’ll be able to get to know your type of business and the kinds of things you’d like to achieve.
The briefing form contains some high-level sections regarding some background information on your business, what you offer, and who your audience is. You’ll also find some questions regarding the tone and style of writing you’d like to achieve as well as the deliverables you’d like me to provide.
It’s best not to rush a brief, but a timely return would be much appreciated.
Step 3: We’re on our way
After returning the brief I‘ll get to work and understand your needs.
The answers in your brief will form the basis for a proposal. If there is anything that I don’t understand I’ll reach out and discuss your brief to clarify.
I’ll then create a proposal and provide it to you which will detail the items I’ll be writing, additional items you’ll need from me, the date of delivery, and a final project cost.
The proposal will include an invoice for up front payment of fifty-percent of the project cost.
Step 4: Setup for a slam dunk
If you’re happy with the proposal, and are comfortable with the project terms and deliverables then the only thing left is to sign off the proposal, return it to me, and provide fifty-percent of the final project cost as deposit.
Step 5: The writing begins
Once the proposal and payment are done, it’s time for me to get to work.
For each deliverable I’m happy to provide in most formats, most clients typically request either PDF of Microsoft Word. If you’d prefer a different format please call it out during the briefing/proposal process.
Step 6: Revisions and/or edits
Once complete I’ll provide you with an email and a secure link.
At this stage you should spend some time reviewing the content, grab a coffee and let the words sink in. Feel free to let me know any thoughts you have. It’s best to provide constructive, detailed feedback so I can better meet your expectations.
If there is anything that you don’t like or would like to change, please markup the provided documents (tracked changes or PDF notes) and return as soon as you can so I can review and update.
Step 6: The last dance
Finally, once I’ve completed any revisions or edits then the project is complete and it’s time for a well deserved round of high-fives and celebratory GIFs for both of us!
I’ll send through a final invoice for payment of the remaining fifty-percent of the project costs and eagerly await your shiny new words to appear in the world.
Lets get started
